ORIGINAL MATCHUPS | PERFECT NEGATIVITY — Description

NIGHTMARE!SANS VS NAZO (UNDERTALE AUS/NAZO UNLEASHED)
CONNECTIONS:
Fanon antagonists created by the fans of two widespread games/franchises (Sonic/Undertale) that look familiar to two blue fan favourites with a sense of justice (Sonic the Hedehog/Sans the skeleton) that had gained most of their popularity from a popular animation in the community (Underverse/Nazo Unleashed)
Both are cruel, unfeeling entities who purely exist for negativity and spreading negativity across the universe, using it for their own goal to stand on top of every universe possible (Nightmare!Sans is the corrupted guardian of the dark tree, who after eating the fruit became corrupted and villainous, using his new power to begin spreading negativity across the timelines/Nazo is a being made out of pure negative chaos energy, and thus his goal is to absorb as much energy as possible to reach an unlimited power as the strongest in the multiverse)
Both are actually super weak to positive energy, and thus seek out to destroy as much of it as possible in order to remain at their strongest (Nightmare's main weakness is anything positive, and thus seeks out to remove any trait of said positivity that might threaten him/Nazo, being a being of negative energy is more easier to damage with positive chaos energy, coming from the chaos emeralds, super emeralds or the master emerald itself, with his true goal to detonate the planet and shatter the master emerald, making it impossible to be restored)
Both are challenged by a hopeful and peaceful optimist who looks similar to them in their own separate stories (Nightmare's brother, Dream/Sonic the hedgehog) who seek out to stop their plans out of their own moral code, much to the annoyance of them, and even come to blows with a tragic and edgier anti-hero (Shadow/Cross), with them even double teaming against them.
Both at their strongest can mutate and transform into more powerful versions of themselves with the more negative energy they absorb (Nightmare can shapeshift and malform into whatever form he wants/Nazo can transform into two forms with the chaos emeralds' negative energy, that being Perfect Nazo and Hyper Perfect Nazo respectively)
Both for a time would succeed in their goals, with Nazo being unmatched in his perfect form until Hyper Shadic came into the mix, and Nightmare spreading his negativity throughout timelines, corrupting multiple individuals until Dream stopped him.
Both have teamed up with/fought with other popular fanon villains just like them in multiple Undertale AUs/Fanmade Sonic animations, with Nazo being usually paired with villains like Seelkadoom, Turbo Mecha Sonic and Aeon/Nightmare with Error, Killer, Dust and Horror
CONTRASTS:
Whilst Nightmare originally had some good in him before getting corrupted, Nazo was pretty much evil from the start and thus doesn't really have any form of emotional attachments towards anyone.
Master manipulator vs a stoic loner

Nazo DESPERATELY needs more MUs man, and I kinda like how this one turned out. Good alt for both
Rooting both (leaning Nazo), betting Nightmare?
